Copying

You may copy any resource to which you have access (your access role in the owning workgroup must permit the copy action). The Copy action allows you to copy to the clipboard a Resource in CERF (e.g., a Resource that is already in a File Cabinet or Notebook) and paste it to a File Cabinet, Folder, or Notebook Page as a Resource or as a Relation or to paste it as an Official Printed Copy, a Notebook Entry or as a Relation.

Methods:

  • Right-click on the Resource and select Edit > Copy. Right-click on the new location (either within the same collection or in a different collection) and select Edit > Paste. The Paste Resource dialog will be launched, presenting several options.
  • Drag and drop the Resource to a different collection. The Paste Resource dialog will present several options.
  • Drag and drop the Resource within the same collection while holding down Ctrl/Option key (note: drag and drop within a collection will result in a cut/paste action unless the Ctrl/Option key is depressed, with the exception of a Rigid Notebook in which Resources cannot be moved).

The paste options may include paste as version, paste as link, and paste as copy (new resource), depending on your access role and other factors.
