Quick Paste

You can copy a file from CERF or from a filesystem on your computer and then select Edit > Quick Paste on a Notebook Page to create a new Entry on the Notebook Page. This adds the file as a new Entry and simultaneously adds the file to CERF. This method of adding a resource to CERF does not give you the option to select a Resource Type and Edit Metadata at the time of resource submission. You may edit the metadata later. Also, this method cannot be used in a File Cabinet, but only a Notebook Page.

You can also use quick paste within CERF to create a link. When you copy a resource that is already in CERF (e.g., in a File Cabinet) and put it into a Notebook using quick paste, the result is a link (the same resource is displayed in both locations and any changes made to the resource in one place will be reflected in both).
