Good Lab Practices (GLP) require that all work be shown and audit trails be intact. In cases where deletion is not permitted, you will probably be creating Rigid Notebooks. If you have created a Notebook Entry that has errors or is invalid in some way, you can strike it out (whether or not it has been finalized).
To strike out an Entry, select Notebook > Strike Out. Or select the entry in the Notebook Viewer and click on the Strikeout button
in the Entry toolbar. This action is not reversible. If there are signatures pending on this Entry, you will not be able to strike out the Entry until all signatures have been completed. If there are pending signatures, you will see the pending signatures icon
on the resource in the Document tree. Or right-click on the Entry and select Digital Signatures. If Sign Resource is on the menu, the Resource does not have a signature workflow in progress and can be signed. If View Signatures is on the menu, you can see if there are signatures waiting to be completed. Similarly, you will not be able to strike out an Entry if the Resource is checked out for editing.
A struck out entry is final and the menu options are limited. After striking out an entry, you will still be able to add an annotation (the image below shows an annotation icon on the header). It is usually good practice to indicate in a note-type annotation why the entry was struck out so that you have a record of your reasoning for your actions.

Note that struck-out entries will be shown as struck out on printed copies.
