A free-hand drawing tool is provided that allows you to create a Notebook Entry that is a drawing canvas that can be saved and printed. You can browse for an image and import it into the drawing or drag an image from your desktop or from the Document Tree into the drawing. Experiment with this tool.
Click on the New Entry button on the Notebook Page toolbar and select “Drawing.” This launches an in-line drawing canvas that will become a Notebook Entry when saved.
Enter a title into the Title bar and experiment with the drawing toolbar shown at the bottom. Note that the toolbar buttons are context-sensitive; e.g., when you create a shape and then select it, a new set of tools will be displayed in the toolbar. As long as the Entry borders are shown with a dotted line, the Entry is not yet saved. Click on the Save button to create the Entry or click on Delete to delete the Entry before it is created. You can also resize your drawing using the Resize Image icon in the drawing toolbar.
A different component is used in CERF to view the drawings; thus the background color and inserted images are not displayed in the saved Entry. Note that all images will be displayed in the printed copy, whether they came from your local computer or CERF.
To print the Notebook page, simply click the Print button on the Notebook Page toolbar. Printed copies can be found in the Notifications pane.
