Checked Out Documents

CERF 6.0 Documentation

Go to CERF 5.3 Documentation

Checked Out Documents Checked Out Documents pane: displays Resources that you have checked out from CERF for editing. Checked Out documents are stored temporarily as local copies. When the Resource is checked out, other CERF users will not be able to edit the resource.

Show Checked Out Documents: Click on the Checked Out Documents icon to the left of the application (or use Ctrl-2).

Hide Checked Out Documents: Click on the “Close View” close view button button in the upper-right corner of the Checked Out Documents pane (or use Ctrl-2).

The toolbar in the Checked Out Documents pane applies to currently checked out documents.

NOTE: It’s a good idea to try to check out documents and files only as you need them, and check them back in as soon as you are done. The list of checked out items displayed in this pane should always be short – rarely more than 4 or 5 items.

NOTE: Remember that only one user at a time can check out a document for editing, so if you have a document checked out that you are not using, you may be blocking edit access for someone else.

NOTE: If you want to edit a document that someone else has checked out, you can right click on the item and choose “Notifications”, then send them a polite request to check the document in if they are done with it.
