Note that some icons on the Document Tree toolbar may be hidden, depending on the width of the left panel (you can resize the panel by dragging the vertical bar that separates left and middle panels).

Refresh Refresh Refreshes the view of the Document Tree.
New Collection New Collection Allows user to create new Notebook, new Notebook Collection, or new File Cabinet. Note that the menu won’t be fully enabled unless the user has the role of Notebook Creator and the business policy allows users to create Notebooks
New Resource New Context-sensitive menu allows user to create child resources that are appropriate for the selected collection; e.g., if Notebook is selected, clicking the New button will allow the user to create a Section or Page.
Hide Collection Hide Hides the selected collection (Notebook, File Cabinet, Notebook Collection) from view in the Document Tree. A hidden collection can be accessed from the Show Collections dialog.
View Resource View Resource Opens the selected Resource in a read-only format. There are several ways to view files are in read-only mode both inside and outside of CERF. Right click any resource and select View In > System Default to view a read-only copy in an appropriate external application (which must be installed on your computer). For Notebooks, this loads the selected resource or container hierarchy for display in the Notebook Viewer within the center panel. For File cabinets or folders this loads the selected resource or container hierarchy for display in the File Viewer within the center panel
Check Out and Edit Check Out and Edit Opens the Resource in editing mode. After saving changes, you will check in the document from the Checked Out Documents Pane or by using right-click menu options.
View Resource Info View Resource Info Opens the same Resource information that is displayed in the Resource Info tab, but this opens as a separate window.
Edit Resource Metadata Edit Resource Metadata This launches the Edit Metadata dialog so that you can change or add metadata to the Resource (Note: The Resource cannot be currently checked out or Final).
Copy Resource Copy Copies the Resource and its metadata to the clipboard. A Notebook may be copied and pasted into a Notebook collection
Paste Resource Paste A Resource may be pasted to another Folder or File Cabinet or Notebook. The Paste options (Paste as Version; Paste as New Resource; Paste as Link, Paste as Official Printed Copy) are displayed only after a Resource has been copied and the destination is selected.
Sign Resource Sign Resource This will be enabled if you are the contributor of the selected Resource. Signing also depends on Signature Workflow settings.
Print Resource Print Resource This prints the selected resource to PDF and makes a copy in CERF. You can find your printed resource in the Notifications Pane when complete.
Locate Resource Locate This launches the Find dialog, which allows you to locate this version or all versions of the selected Resource in all collections or in a collection of a specified type.
Bookmark Resource Bookmark Adds a selected Resource to your Bookmarks Pane.
=show hidden icons More Icons This is used to display a list of any remaining toolbar icons that don’t fit in the currently available space of the left panel You also can drag the panel divider to make the panel wider to reveal those icons.
